Description

SLP 100 describes how speech-language pathologists and other professionals can use Cued Speech to address a variety of speech, language, and literacy goals for deaf and hard-of-hearing children, as well as for other populations. Each module includes activities for practice and application.  

The course is composed of six video course modules. Each video is approximately 15 minutes in length, and ends with a practice/application activity that requires 15 minutes to complete. Total time of videos and related activities: 180 minutes.  Module Topics: Course Introduction and Overview, Introduction to Cued Speech, Articulation and Phonology, Comparing Cueing Systems, Cues to Phonemic Awareness, Cueing and Language Development. 

You will have access to this course during the period of your enrolled Offering.  If requesting CEUs, you must complete all the course requirements during your enrolled time period in order to have your CEUs honored.  Access to a READ ONLY view will be available for your continued learning up until the next Offering is posted. 

Your enrollment in SLP100 entitles you to also attend an interactive Zoom session with the instructor of the course, Dr. Cathy Rasmussen, CCC-SLP during office hours for the period of time during your enrolled offering.  Instructions for signing up for and attending your interactive session are provided in the course itself.  Furthermore, if you need or want a Cue College Certificate of Completion for SLP100 (a prerequisite for receiving ASHA, RID, or other CEU types), you must view all six Modules of the course, complete the practice/application activities, complete the quiz with a score of 80% or better, and complete the final Course Evaluation.  [Note: You may repeat the quiz as many times as necessary in order to achieve the required 80% score.]  

If you have signed up for the course with the expectation of earning ASHA, RID CEUs or other CEUs, kindly complete the provided form located in your “Welcome” Letter at the bottom ***CEUs (Continuing Education Units)***   [Important note:  When you sign up for this course and request CEUs, you must complete the course expectations within the time allotted for your offering in order to receive your CEU credit.  If you do not complete the course by the end of your offering, you will still have access (read only) to the course, but CEUs will not be issued.]

Certificates are created and emailed on a quarterly basis after successful completion of the requirements stated in the course.  Please contact Cue College at info@cuecollege.org  if you have any questions about how to receive your Certification of Completion.  Certificates will be issued at the end of each quarter of your offering.
