CS100A is organized into four learning modules, which include 14 structured lessons that teach the 8 consonant handshapes and 4 vowel placements of Cued American English—one of more than 65 languages adapted to the Cued Speech system. Through video demonstrations and quizzes, you will learn to cue the 40 phonemes used in expressing the English language.
YOU WILL HAVE UP TO 8 WEEKS FROM DATE OF PURCHASE TO SCHEDULE and USE THE FOUR 30-Minute SESSIONS. Renewal options are available at the end of your subscription period if you wish to maintain access.
CS100A Overview:
In this course, participants will learn what Cued Speech is and how to cue the 40 phonemes (sounds) of American English. Using a system of consonant handshapes and vowel placements, participants will learn to cue consonant-vowel pairs along with the natural mouth movements of speech, making spoken language visually distinct.

Course Agenda and Access:

- After registering, you will receive a Welcome Letter email with instructions on how to access your course in our LearnWorlds Online Campus.
- Once registered, Flex Check-Ins are scheduled through the “My Account” tab, where you can access the CS100A-Flex Check-In Session Calendar. Each session is limited to three participants to ensure individualized support.
- The Student-Timed agenda will be accessible via a link in your Welcome Letter and on the Home Page of your course. This should be downloaded and read ASAP, as it provides an outline of topics to be covered each week and preparation required before each online class session.
- Learners are expected to view and complete each Module course content, in accordance with instructions in the Student Timed Agenda, preferably at least 1 calendar DAY PRIOR to each of your scheduled flex check-in sessions.
- Course access lasts for 1 year from the date of purchase for ongoing review and practice.
Requirements for Cue College Certificate of Completion
To earn a Cue College Certificate of Completion:

- Read and view all course pages and all course videos, including informational text, graphics, and videos, practice drill videos, and practice cueing activities
- Complete all drilling and practice activities and view practice videos at least twice
- Achieve a minimum score of 80% on all 3 multiple choice quizzes (quizzes can be repeated if needed)
- Attend all 4 live Instructor Zoom CHECK-IN Sessions (30-minute sessions each), actively participate in guided practice with instructor, and demonstrate approximately 80% mastery of cueing principles, skills and form as outlined in the Course Objectives
- Complete all the above requirements listed above and the final Course Evaluation no later than 2 days after the end of your 8 week registered course offering.
