Cue Family Program

The Cue Family Program includes…

  • Free access for one year to the online Cue College course, “CS100 – Introduction to Cued American English – Self Study”, for parents, guardians, additional family members, and caregivers of a child with hearing loss or other communication challenges
  • Free 1 year membership to the National Cued Speech Association

“Cue Family” is a partnership between Cue College and the Deaf Children’s Literacy Project (a program of the National Cued Speech Association).

NOTE: If you are not a family member of a deaf child and do not qualify for free access to our Cue Family program, you can purchase a year of access to the CS100 course at www.cuecollege.org/store/cs100 for only $49.

About "CS100 - INTRODUCTION TO CUED AMERICAN ENGLISH"

CS100 includes 14 lessons that teach the 8 hand shapes and 4 hand placements of Cued American English.  You will learn to cue the 40 different sounds (“phonemes”) used in expressing the English language, with video demonstrations and quizzes that will provide you with the opportunity to learn and practice the entire system for cueing American English at the sound/phoneme, word, phrase and sentence levels.

You will likely need about 15-25 hours to finish the course, after which you will be able to cue anything, slowly, to your child — with fluency building over just a few weeks to a few months, with consistent practice and use at home.

At the end of this course, you will learn more about the next steps and resources for building fluency in Cued American English — and will learn of additional opportunities to make connections within the Cued Speech community.

  • Only one person from a family group (the “registrant”) need register -- after which we will email the registrant a “Cue Family Registration Code” that can be used by each member of the family and caregiver who would like to learn to cue.
  • The Registration Code will be valid for one week and should be used as a coupon code in the Cue College Cue Store, by each family member, to order one year of free access to CS100 - Introduction to Cued American English; Self-Study.
  • Upon completion of this registration form, you will receive an email with your Family Registration Code and further instructions.
